At least 130 Secret Service agents working at the White House are quarantining or isolating after they tested positive or came into contact with infected staff members.
According to the Washington Post, over 100 Secret Agents charged with protecting the outgoing American president Donald Trump are now battling the much-feared virus.
The Jeff Bezos owned publication that is known for criticizing the outgoing president claims that the spread is partly linked to Trump’s campaigns.
The secret service is reported to have sent 20 officers to 5 of Trump’s final rallies in two days.
The Secret Service is also looking at the possibility that the officers might have got infected at the White House.
It should be remembered that early last month the American president tested positive for COVID-19 and was quarantined together with his wife Melania Trump.
