Rights activist Frank Gashumba, of the Sisimuka pressure group, might be a Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) supporter but that it seems that will not stop him from backing candidates fronted by other oppisition parties.
Gashumba who was a keynote speaker at a Democratic Party (DP) event last month which was held to inaugurate new party leaders for Kampala and Wakiso, last night sent a message to thousands of his followers after he updated his Facebook page with a cover photo of his friend Wakayima Musoke Nsereko, who is the National Unity Platform (NUP) Member of Parliament candidate for Nansana municipality.

A few minutes later he posted the same photo alongside that of Moses Bigirwa, who is contesting for the Kamuli municipality MP seat.
Kamuli municipality is currently represented by Hajjati Rehema Watongola, whom Bigirwa wants to oust.

However, despite his endorsement of NUP candidates, Gashumba, a popular political commentator who has in the past been accused of fraud, is seen by some hard-line opposition elements as a mole because of his tribal background and association with high profile people in government.
