The Uganda Cranes beat South Sudan in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers game that was played on Thursday evening at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende.
The game was attended by a few spectators due to the Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aimed preventing the spread of COVID-19.

However, that didn’t stop the Cranes from thrilling millions of Ugandans who were watching them on TV while others listened in on radio.

Shortly after the match, UK based Ugandan footballer Elvis Bwomono, who literally cut his teeth with a victorious debut, tweeted thus;
“Humbled to have made my full international debut and get the 1-0 win White heavy check mark. Focus remains for the second header game on Monday.@UgandaCranes”

The match was third game for the countries in group B of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
