With less than 12 months left on his Arsenal contract, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future has been at the centre of discussion for Arsenal fans for the better part of this transfer window.
The Arsenal captain has arguably been Club’s best player since his arrival in North London in January 2018, scoring 71 goals (the most by any player in the UK) in 110 appearances across all competitions.
Good news coming from reliable sources close to both the club and the player indicates that Aubameyang is set to sign a new contract at Arsenal that will keep him at the Emirates for three more years, earning £250,000 per week, becoming the highest-paid Arsenal player.
According to The Athletic, the intervention of head coach Mikel Arteta during months of negotiations proved crucial and his relationship with Aubameyang and the Gabon international’s father was fundamental to getting the deal over the line.
Insiders say that almost all details of the deal between Arsenal and their captain are done and his new contract may be announced before their season opener away at Fulham this Saturday.
We are sure this is the type of content Arsenal fans want to hear.
