The beef between singers Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool and Michael Mugwanya aka DJ Michael is not about to end.
We revealed recently how Bebe Cool had blocked DJ Michael from performing at National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s campaigns in Northern Uganda.
Our Moles revealed then that Bebe Cool had struck several names from a list of musicians that Balaam Barugahara had presented to State House to perform at President Museveni’s campaigns, something that didn’t amuse not only Balaam and DJ Michael but also other musicians.
However, we have since learnt that when President Museveni completed his campaign trail in Northern Uganda, Bebe Cool’s services were halted and he was given strict instructions to return to Kampala, because Balaam is in charge of the Eastern region campaigns.
We have since established that when Balaam and DJ Michael were asked to compile a list of musicians to headline Museveni’s campaigns in Eastern Uganda, the first name they struck off the list was that of Bebe Cool, reason why he was given marching orders.
Consequently DJ Michael and other musicians on Balaam’s list like Ronald Mayinja, Tindatine, Fred Ssebaale are the ones headlining Museveni’s campaigns in Eastern Uganda and doing a great job at garnering support for the NRM candidate.
While commenting about the development, DJ Michael told the media that “Yes! We did it. I had to show Bebe Cool that he doesn’t own NRM. We are all supporters of President Museveni and the NRM so there is no reason why he should behave like he owns NRM.”
He added that; “I removed Bebe Cool’s name from the list and he must know that in NRM there people who like DJ Michael, and others who like Kusasira or Big Eye.
However, efforts to reach Bebe Cool for a comment about this matter were futile because he couldn’t be reached through his known mobile phone lines.
