A renowned banker with Bank of India, Uganda, breathed her last on Saturday evening after she got involved in a horrible accident that occurred in Namasuba, along Entebbe Road, which left her car crashed beyond repair.
Eyewitnesses reveal that the deceased, who was identified as Margaret Dwaya Bamanya popularly known as Maggie, died after her vehicle a Vitz registration number UBA 580P lost control and rammed into a road barricade as she tried to drive away very fast after scratching a another car, a Mark X.
It is said that in the bid to speed away shortly after scratching the other vehicle, a scared Bamanya lost control and ended up driving into a barricade that separates Entebbe Highway lanes, before the car overturned several times, thereby getting killed on spot after her body got mangled in the wreckage.
Besides working at Bank of India as the Marketing Communications officer, Bamanya was also working with former Miss Uganda and Miss World Africa Quin Abenakyo’s NGO called Abenakyo Foundation.

The traffic police were shortly thereafter called to the accident so as to ascertain the actual cause of the accident.
The police took her body to Mulago Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem as investigations into what caused the accident continue. They are also hunting for the owner of the scratched Mark X car such that they can record a statement about what actually happened prior to the deadly incident.
