A squad of anti-riot policemen have Thursday morning raided the National Unity Platform (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi’s offices in Jinja Town.
This website has learnt that the police, without warning stormed the NUP offices and cordoned off the entire building, arrested some of Bobi Wine’s supporters and party coordinators who were found there.

Joel Ssenyonyi, the NUP spokesperson, tweeted shortly after the raid thus; “We’ve learnt about the raid on NUP offices in Jinja by heavily armed police officers. They’ve arrested the office attendant plus one of our coordinators. And then you hear our leaders say that they returned democracy to the country. Just like their predecessors, they too will go!”
The raid in Jinja comes days after the police raided Bobi Wine’s NUP offices in Kamwokya, Kampala, from where they allegedly stole nomination forms for NUP candidates, although the police maintain that they only recovered army uniforms.

However, by press time the police spokesperson SP Patrick Onyango was yet to give a statement about the raid at the NUP offices in Jinja and what had motivated it.
