The Democratic Party (DP) has announced that it has unveiled its first ever challenge to youths below the age of 30 dubbed ‘Presidential Campaign Poster Contest’, for their candidate, Norbert Mao.
The party’s spokesperson told ExposedUganda.com on Wednesday that the contestants will be selected by a panel of judges and the overall winner will walk away with Shs1m and a contract to design Mao’s posters.
The second and third will walk away with Shs500,000 and Shs300,000 respectively and the deadline for entry into the contest has been set for 31st October.
However, although Mao announced his interest in running for Presidency for the third time ever since he was elected as party’s president in 2010, he is yet to submit signatures endorsing him to contest for position to the Electoral Commission for verification and nomination, yet deadline for the same expired.
Mao is yet to address the issue of how he will be included on the 2021 ballot paper yet he has neither submitted his signatures and application forms to the Commission indicating his interest to contest for the presidency.
