Emanuel Simbwa Ssebuliba, the man who was allegedly filmed on CCTV camera savagely attacking a policewoman with a hammer during the Free Bobi Wine protests last week has finally been arrested.
Ssebuliba was arrested by police on Monday with the help of footage that had been captured by CCTV cameras that were erected in several parts of the city to boost security.

In the CCTV footage that went viral on social media, a young man dressed on a red jumper and black trousers, who looks to be in his late twenties, is seen using a hammer to clobber a policewoman who was trying to clear debris that had been thrown in the middle of the road by rioters.
After the police officer, who has since been identified as ACP Consulate Kasule falls down, another boy comes from the opposite side and throws a huge stone at her while people in the adjacent building shout; “Kakube, Kakube”.

ACP Kasule was saved from being launched by a fellow police officer who quickly rushed to her rescue and chased away the rioters before they could kill her.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SP Fred Enanga, the police first arrested Ssebuliba’s accomplice identified as Benson Kasozi, who later helped them to pick up Ssebuliba from his hideout.

By press time however the police had not yet pronounced the charges lodged against Ssebuliba, although Enanga revealed that he will be arraigned in court to face several charges among them attempted murder and vicious assault resulting into grievous bodily harm when investigations into the matter are completed.
