The family of the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga are mourning the demise of their beloved one Sheila Nicole Kadaga, who passed away Monday, after succumbing to a disease similar to COVID-19.
According to close family sources, Nicole passed away at International Hospital a few days back, where she was admitted with symptoms like breathing complications, headache, running stomach and vomiting, which are similar to those of those of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
Although medics at IHK are yet to reveal details of her postmortem, Sheila’s sudden demise has left very many Ugandans, especially those who got to know her at Uganda Christian University and from other places so heartbroken.

Commenting about her untimely demise, the official UCU twitter handle tweeted thus; “The Staff and Community of UCU commiserate with the family of Guild President Emeritus, @timothy_kadaga in mourning his sister, Sheila Nicole Alitwala Kadaga who passed on 28/2/2021. The deceased was also an alumna of UCU. Burial is Wed, 3/3/2021 in Kamuli district.”
Sheila was the sister of outgoing Uganda Christian University Guild President Timothy Kadaga Kivunike and they were both the only urviving children of late Kadaga Kivunike, Speaker Kadaga’s brother, who died in the early 2000s and she raised them as her own children since his demise.
Close family members have revealed to this website that Sheila’s remains will be laid to rest at the family’s ancestral grounds in Mbulamuti, Buzaaya County in Kamuli District on a date yet to be confirmed according to family.
