All members of the Forum for Democratic Change  (FDC) and supporters of Lord Mayor Hajji Elias Lukwago, who was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, last week, can now sit back and breathe a huge sigh of relief.

According to the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura, Lukwago’s health condition has greatly improved compared to when he was admitted, thanks to the combined efforts of doctors at Aga Khan Hospital.

Among the medical professionals who have been attending to the respected lawyer is a Ugandan-born consultant, physician and Gastroenterologist Prof Geoffrey Lule and Kenyan chest expert Muhiindi Wanjugu.

It should be remembered that Lukwago was flown to Kenya to get specialised medical attention on recommendations of doctors in Kampala due to lack of necessary advanced equipment and enough experts in the country to treat respiratory complications and acute anaphylaxis.

Initially, it was feared that Lukwago, who is Col. Dr Kizza Besigye’s right-hand man and is running for office again in the 2021 General election,  had been poisoned.

Other circles thought his poor health was a result of COVID- 19 until people close to him came forward and cleared the air.
