Uganda Police, through their official Facebook page on Friday released a report that gives an insight into a shocking video that shows a man in a yellow t-shirt being slapped, kicked and stomped on by a group of angry men in Kampala.
According to the police, although earlier reports suggested that the man who was assaulted is an innocent National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporter who was attacked for wearing a yellow t-shirt, it has since established that he is criminal.
The Police say that the man, whose identity is still tricky, is part of one of the criminal gangs in Kampala whose members wear t-shirts of different political parties to hoodwink their would-be victims.

The police contend that this man was part of a group of thuggish youth gangs commonly known as Kifesi who on Wednesday January 6th, 2021 walked from Kisenyi towards Blue Room and went on robbing phones and other valuables in the busy downtown area.
Eventually, the police intervened and some of them were arrested.
Those arrested include; Muhamad Katerega, Ogutu Bernard and Ngubiri Charles.
It’s alleged they were being commanded by a one Ssentongo, who is still at large.
The police thus warn the public that there some young people who have offered themselves as gangs for hire, hence the need to be vigilant about their personal security. They also urge the public to avail the police in their area with information that might lead to the arrest of these gangs.
