National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on Wednesday told his supporters in Kisoro District that President Yoweri Museveni allegedly used and dumped one of their own Gen. Kale Kayihura, who is the former Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Speaking to supporters, Bobi Wine started by explaining how the former police chief used to be his friend and how he had worked with him.
“I had a friend called Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura. We worked together on so many things and he even used to come to my concerts. I know many of you have seen the pictures…and because I come from the ghetto, when he wanted to teach the ghetto people about not smoking ganja, he didn’t issue orders to arrest them but asked me to talk to them.”
He added that; “Museveni used Gen. Kayihura dumped to make mistakes and later dumped him. He(Kayihura) is never a free man. He was arrested with Gen. Tumukunde who is running for president but Kayihura cannot even go home. If I am lying, let Museveni come and to campaign in Kisoro with Kayihura”.
Kyagulamyi also revealed that during his conversation with the NUP vice president for western Uganda he was told that back in the day there was an airstrip in areas such Kisoro and Kasese so one could fly from Entebbe to Kisoro or Kasese to Entebbe.
He thus promised that once he is voted into power such infrastructure will become a reality again.
Bobi Wine later wrote on Facebook revealing how he’d learnt that the Kisoro Resident District Commissioner Peter Mugisha had said on a local radio station that whoever was planning to attend Bobi Wine’s rally should first dig their grave because they would be shot dead.
