National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine is set to appear before the Iganga Chief Magistrates Court today, in Iganga District, charges lodged against him by the police will be read out to him.

Bobi Wine was arrested on Wednesday by police in Luuka District, where he was set to hold a political rally as part of his campaign trail.

However, since his arrest, protests have been ravaging several parts of the country as Bobi Wine’s supporters demanded his freedom.

On Friday morning, there was heavy police deployment at the Iganga Chief Magistrates Court, although by press time neither his lawyers, family nor NUP officials had been informed by the police whether Bobi Wine would appear in court or not.
