Kampala flashy pastor Mondo Mugisha is having sleepless night after his protégé pastor Siraje Ssemanda was arrested by police over the weekend on allegations of stealing over Shs5Bn.
Pastor Ssemanda, of Bombo Revival Ministries Church, was paraded before Buganda Road Court on Monday afternoon to face the charges, which was filed by a group of city pastors and he was later remanded to Kitalya prison.
Pastors accusing Ssemanda of fraud told the media that he collected over Shs5Bn for registration of children for various educational programs in South Africa and over Shs40Bn from private schools incurred when he recruited thousands of children promising to pay their fees, which he didn’t.
According to our sources with security circles, Pastor Ssemanda was intercepted at the Mutukula border point as he tried to flee the country.

It is said that parents paid Shs25,000 for each child to enroll in Ssemanda’s purported education program but after receiving the money he disappeared.
Not even the police could track him down. The Pastor, after living in hiding for a long time, was arrested by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU) on Sunday, although he denied the allegations.
However, we have since learnt that Ssemanda is a close associate of pastor Mondo Mugisha and that he pulled off the scam with yet to identified woman, who is also being hunted by the police and SHACU to answer questions.

Ssemanda was remanded to Kitalya prisons as investigations into the allegations lodged against him continue.
But efforts to contact Pastor Mondo for a comment about this matter were futile because he couldn’t be reached through his office lines.
