The Police in northern Uganda have blocked Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat from entering Kitgum District, where he was set to hold campaigns.

Heavily armed policemen barred Patrick Amuriat Oboi from entering Kitgum

The police mounted road block at Bobi Central Village, Kitgum District and blocked Amuriat together with his team from continuing.

Amuriat and his group were advised hold their campaigns in Lamwo District

Lamwo DPC, Moses Akena says they won’t allow Amuriat to campaign in Kitgum today because

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni  is also slated to hold his campaign meeting in the same town.

He says Amuriat should go to Lamwo.

However, we have since established that Amuriat later  beat the police blockade and managed to drive to Kitgum town using shortcuts in various villages, although by press time it wasn’t yet clear whether they would allow him to continue with his planned rally or not.
