News coming in indicates that operatives said to be from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), the police and army have Thursday evening been deployed outside National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s home in Magere, Wakiso District.
Although the police, URA and military are yet to reveal the reason for the deployment, word within the NUP camp indicates that the deployment is aimed at impounding the bullet proof vehicle that Bobi Wine recently acquired.
It should be noted that Bobi Wine early this week unveiled a monster Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicle, registration number UBJ 667F which he said had been gifted to him by his friends, well-wishers and supporters.
But we have learnt that ever since he unveiled the vehicle several government officials, especially those at URA, are living on tenterhooks, as the powers that be demand that they answer endless questions, especially about how Bobi Wine managed to ship in the vehicle without any of them detecting it, and how he cleared all its tax dues to the extent of acquiring a number plate for it without the machine and its owner being subjected to security vetting.
As if that is not enough, the Acting Inspector General of Government (IGG) George Bamugemereire has since given Bobi Wine until March 1st, 2021 to file with the IGG’s office a declaration of all his wealth and sources for same, including houses, lands, business entities and movable assets like vehicles, the bullet proof car inclusive, as the Leadership Code Act demands of all public leaders.
We shall bring you details about this developing story;
