Bebe Cool Buries Head In Sand As Nigerian Artists Take Over Uganda’s Music Industry

By Ivan Mwine

Musician turned political activist Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool is literary burying his head in the sand like the proverbial ostrich as Nigerian musicians take over the entertainment industry.

Bebe Cool has for the past few years been lambasting DJs and Ugandan events promoters for ‘killing market’ for Ugandan musicians by organizing concerts for Nigerian artists instead of doing the same for Ugandan musicians.

He reiterated the same sentiments early this year when celebrated Nigerian musician Michael Adebayo Olayinka  aka Ruger flew to Kampala for a concert.

However, despite having appeared like he was very concerned, Bebe Cool seems to have given up on his endeavours as more Nigerian musicians are being flown to perform at concerts in Uganda.

Just last weekend Nigerian musician Adekunle Kasoko, popularly as known Adekunle Gold performed at concert in Kampala and later bragged that over 20,000 had attended the show and it should be noted that no Ugandan artiste has bragged about attracting such  a huge crowd.

After Adekunle however, there are more Nigerian artistes coming to Uganda to perform in the coming months, among them Kizz Daniel and Rema but it seems Bebe Cool resigned to his sulking and accepted that there is nothing he can do about it.
