The Uganda Prisons Services (UPS) especially members of the Prisons Jazz Band are engulfed in grief following the demise of Chief Wardress Deborah Imokol.
According to close family sources, Imokol, who was a long-serving member of the UPS, passed away on Thursday morning following a short illness.
Her demise was announced in a tweet by the UPS which states thus; “The Commissioner General of Prisons announces the untimely demise of Chief Wardress Deborah Imokol of Uganda Prisons Band who breathed her last this morning. She has been an instrumental member of the jazz band fraternity. May Her Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.”
It is not yet clear what exactly caused her death but we are still waiting for an official statement from the UPS spokesperson Frank Baine.
Details about the burial arrangements shall be communicated in our subsequent reports.
