The race for the Kabarole District Woman Member of Parliament seat is heating up after Lillian Kobugabe, a member of Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP), coming up to contest against Sylvia Rwabwogo, of President Yoweri Museveni’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
Political pundits in Fort Portal and surrounding areas reveal that tension is mounting between Kobugabe and Rwabwogo’s supporters ahead of the 2021 elections, with each camp vowing that their candidate will emerge winner.

It should however be recalled that Rwabwogo made headlines last year after jailing a student at YMCA identified as Brian Isiko, who she accused of bombarding her with endless love messages.
Rwabwogo told Buganda Road Magistrates Court that Isiko had spent a long time stalking her by sending her endless romantic messages and love songs, something that threatened her life.
However, court later dismissed the case after Rwabwogo refused to appear for cross-examination and to testify before court how love messages could endanger her life. Several summons were served to Rwabwogo and her lawyers but none of them appeared in court, which prompted the Magistrate to dismiss the case file.
