Bobi Wine Named Among 100 Most Influential Africans

Here is some good news finally for Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine’s supporter after  his scuffle with police shortly after being nominated to contest for presidency in the 2021 election.

Bobi Wine, a musician turned politician who is the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and presidential aspirant on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, has been named among the 100 most influential Africans 2020.

The list which includes several celebrities from across Africa was compiled by leading public relations firm Avance Media.

Besides Bobi Wine, other celebrated Ugandans on the list of 100 Most Influential Africans include;  multiple award winning musician Eddy Kenzo, BBC journalist Nancy Kacungira, climate change activist Vanessa Nakate, Shamim Nabuuma Kaliisa the founder of Chip Artificial Intelligence Lab, plus  NBS TV news anchor and investigative  journalist Solomon Serwanja.

West African countries are also well-represented on the list with Nigeria and Ghana having the highest number of influencers with a total of 31 young celebrities followed by Kenya and South Africa, which have 10 people each.

Explaining how the PR firm came up with the list Avance CEO Prince Akpah said that; “The 2020 list features young people pursuing various interests intended to put the name of the continent on the globe through selfless sacrifice and spirited leadership.”
