‘Bobi Wine Plans to Kidnap Himself  After Elections’-Police

The Uganda Police  have revealed that the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, who is contesting against National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, plans to kidnap himself prior to, during and or after the presidential elections on January 14th.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) spokesperson Fred Enanga, the police has landed on intelligence indicating that Bobi Wine and his NUP supporters have hatched a plot in which he intends to kidnap himself, such that is supporters can wreak havoc in the country.

“The police has received intelligence that Bobi Wine plans to kidnap himself on election day, such that  his absence can spark off violence from his supporters,” Enanga said Tuesday during a press conference.

He added that all he police and other security agencies are on high alert to ensure the no Ugandan is harmed and that no riots are held during or after elections.

However, Enanga’s statement came a few hours after  the police had raided Bobi Wine’s home in Magere, Gayaza, Wakiso District, where they reportedly assaulted his guards and arrested two of his domestic workers.

But the police denied either assaulting anyone or arresting people from Bobi Wine’s home, and while commenting about the matter, KMP deputy Police Spokesperson SP Luke Owoyesigire said the police only went there to remove  the check-point barricade they had left there, so as to ease traffic.
