According to footage shared by Ghetto TV, an online television station, Bobi Wine and his supporters were fired at by the police as they tried to traverse Mbale City during his presidential campaigns.
It is reported that the police barred Bobi Wine and his supporters from holding a rally in Mbale City, and instead directed him to the outskirts of the city, although they followed him there too, with teargas and bullets.
At some point, the police, after shooting bullets all over the place, fired teargas canisters directly into Bobi Wine’s vehicle, which almost choked him and other occupants to death.
He was however rescued from the teargassed vehicle by some of his supporters, who switched him to another vehicle that whisked him away.
However, by the time of filing this story, it was not yet clear whether Bobi Wine was well or if he had returned to Kampala, where he is expected to announce his next campaign trail.
