Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, who is the presidential candidate for the National Unity Platform (NUP), held meeting today with officials of the Electoral Commission, during which he complained about the brutality being unleashed on him and his supporters during his campaigns.
During the meeting which was held in camera, Bobi Wine, who was flanked by a team of NUP members among them spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi, Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya, among others, told the E.C Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama and other officials that their campaigns had been frustrated by the police and military.
He presented to Justice Byabakama some of the photographs that were taken during his campaign which show heavily armed unfirmed police and military officers brutalising his supporters.
The meeting came a day after Bobi Wine announced that he had suspended his presidential campaigns in a bid to demand explanations from the E.C as to why security personnel are killings some of his supporters and often firing teargas and bullets wherever he holds a political rally.
However, since the meeting was held in camera, we shall bring you details as and when come from both Bobi Wine’s NUP camp and Justice Byabakama’s E.C.
