The Police in Kampala Metropolitan Area (KMP) are hunting for a gang of robbers riding on boda-bodas, who on Saturday brutally assaulted an Asian businessman, in Kamwokya, before they robbed him of Shs5m.

The victim who was bruatlised by the robbers has since been identified by the police as Jiwan Lal, an accountant working with Rigil Agro Peck Limited.

Footage from police CCTV cameras at the Mawanda Road junction, in Kamwokya, shows a gang of about 14 boda-boda riders blocking the Asian, who is also riding a motorcycle; the men jump of their boda-bodas, start kicking and punching the Asian while others grab what appears to be a bag full of money from him.

After viciously attacking the Asian  and  pulling off his helmet, the gang of robbers jump onto their boda-boda and speed off in the same direction with the bag of money.

ASP Luke Owoyesigire, the KMP Deputy Police publicist  has since  revealed that the police are already hunting for the robbers.

“The territorial Police at Kira road are investigating a robbery incident that happened yesterday the 24/7/2021 at around 12 PM  along Mawanda Road,” Owoyesigire said in a statement.
