A week after the death of Col. Shaban Bantariza, who succumbed to the killer Coronavirus, another public figure has died of COVID-19.
Chris Ibaale, a well-known Kampala based lawyer passed away on Monday evening at 5:00Pm, after losing the battle to COVID-19.
Announcing his death, veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda, his uncle described the 48-year-old lawyer as one of most intelligent lawyers in Kampala and a man who lived and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Friends who fondly called him Capo also described him as a hardworking and fun-loving man.
Ibaale will be laid to rest on Thursday at his ancestral home Kyandahi village, Kabarole District.
His battle with the deadly disease led to him being admitted to Medispal, Mulago Referral Hospital and later IHK, where he breathed his last.
Ibaale’s death is another stronger reminder that COVID-19 is real and it kills, so you do avoid getting infected by wearing a face mask when in public, keep social distance, wash hands frequently with soap or use sanitizer.
