News coming in from credible sources indicates the Commander of Land Forces (CLF) Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is also the First Son, is set to hold a highlevel diplomatic meeting with H.E President Paul Kagame of Rwanda.
The sources reveal that Muhoozi is already on his way to Kigali to meet Kagame to deliver a message to him from his father President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Although the matters to be discussed by the two are highly confidential and classified, it should be noted that Muhoozi’s meeting with Kagame comes a few days after the Rwandan president held a private meeting with Adonia Ayebare, Uganda’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, during which he reportedly delivered to him a message from President Museveni.
A few high level officials in the country have since confirmed the said meeting between Muhoozi and Kagame, one of them being his close associate city businessman Balaam Barugahara, who tweeted on Saturday morning thus;
“In the Coming Hours of today 22nd Jan 2022 Our next / Generational Leader Gen @mkainerugaba will be meeting his uncle and Rwanda’s President @PaulKagame at noon. Good bless Our Leaders @KagutaMuseveni and entire Population of Rwanda & Uganda.”
If it comes to pass, this will be the first high level meeting to be held between Kagame and Muhoozi because in the past the Rwandan president had been holding such meetings with his counterpart president Museveni.
The meeting comes on the heels of talks about reopening the Rwandan border with Uganda, which president Kagame closed in 2019, after accusing the Ugandan government of allegedly harbouring insurgents that are plotting to overthrow the regime in Kigali.
We shall keep you updated about the developments.
