A few days day after popular events promoter Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo publicly dismissed opposition efforts to take over power from President Yoweri Museveni, former Kabozi Kubiri radio presenter Basajjamivule Bwadenne has quit Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine National Unity Platform (NUP) to join the National Resistance Movement (NRM.)
Basajjamivule, who was arrested late last month for inciting violence and fanning flames of sectarianism among people after releasing an inflammatory video accusing the government for favouring people from western Uganda, on Monday morning joined Museveni’s camp.
Since being released from jail the veteran journalist had been attacking the opposition, claiming it is intolerant, its leaders are greedy and lack the ability to defeat President Museveni’s government.

During the function to welcome him to NRM that was organized by businessman Balaam Barugahara, Basajjamivule angrily blasted People Power leaning bloggers, who he accused pocketing President Museveni’s cash despite the fact that they are still in the opposition.
A beaming Barugahara, who enjoys a close relationship with the President and First Son Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, said he was working hard to make sure another high profile People Power supporter joins Museveni’s camp next week.
Last week Ashburg Kato, a social media personality and former People Power supporter who defected to NRM, posted but later deleted a list of well- known People Power supporters who he claimed will be joining NRM. Both Basajjamivule and Bajjo were on the list and they have since crossed over.
