Heavy metal rocker Marilyn Manson has been dropped by his record label less than 24 hours after his ex-actress Racheal Wood publicly accused him of sexual abuse.
Part of the record label’s statement reads thus; “In the light of today’s disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as their abuser, Loma Vista will cease to further promote his current album effective immediately…”
The recording company also says it will not work with him in future.
The 52-year-old singer started dating the actress in 2007 when she was 19 and he was 38 years old.
Racheal Wood, who began publicly speaking about being a survivor of sexual abuse and domestic violence in 2016, and later testified before congress in 2018, in bid to encourage it to pass a sexual abuse survivor bill of rights, on Monday for the first time named her abuser.
“The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson. He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins anymore lives. I stand with the more victims who will no longer be silent,” she said in her confession.
Four other women have also come forward to accuse him of sexual abuse and violence.
All five women, including Racheal Wood, are currently battling with posttraumatic stress disorder.
However, in a statement he issued Monday on Instagram, the quirky artiste described the allegations as “horrible distortions of reality”
