Damali Steps Down As The Uganda Trade Mark EastAfrica Country Director

Today morning Damali Ssali has stepped down from her position of Country Director Trademark EastAfrica in Uganda which she has held for 8 years in an acting capacity.

She took over in 2013 in an acting capacity. She was heading both Uganda and South Sudan.

The tweeted read :

TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) is funded by a range of development agencies to promote prosperity in East Africa through trade. It believes that enhanced trade contributes to economic growth, reduced poverty, and increased prosperity.

TMEA aims to deliver further reductions to time and costs of doing business in Uganda. This will be achieved through support to ICT for Trade (ICT4T), enhancing coordination among trade agencies and upscaling successful interventions such as Electronic Cargo Tracking System (ECTS) and Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) to the regional level.

Who Is Damali Ssali?

Damali was the Ag. Country Director of TradeMark East Africa in Uganda before today where she had worked for seven years.

She is an accountant by training, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK), and started off her career in the financial services industry, in the City of London, working with one of the largest hedge funds in the world.

Damali holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), from the Grenoble École de Management, or the Grenoble Graduate School of Business, in France, with a specialization in Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Management.

She is also an Affiliate of the Institute of Public-Private Partnerships. Her range of expertise includes financial services, trade policy, entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation.

She has been an MC on some of the big events around town because of her fluency

She last year started Tv programme called ideation Corner where she hosts different personalities that talk about current affairs and their roles in the contribution to the development of the country which airs on UBC TV.

An advert was seen on the internet last week whereby Trademark East Africa was advertising different positions including the position of country director Uganda.
