President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tbuhaburwa is mourning the untimely demise of his paternal aunt, Kaaka Jiresi Keminagano, who passed away on Saturday evening at Nakasero Hospital, Kampala, where she had been bedridden for days.

Museveni, in his condolence message however, noted that  mourners at late Kaaka Kemigano’s funeral will be limited due to the standing COVID-19 regulations and that her burial shall be recorded on video such that all family members and other Ugandans can be part of it.

“I regret to announce the death of one of my paternal aunts (tatenkazi), Kaaka Jiresi Keminagano (97).  She died at 8pm last night at Nakasero from conditions related to old age and long-time immobility in a wheelchair. She will be buried at Rwakitura, tomorrow,” Museveni tweeted shortly after her demise.

“Only very few people have been requested to conduct the burial in accordance with the COVID-19 regulations. The relatives,  acquaintances, and friends, are requested not to try and congregate at the burial because it is dangerous and has no value addition,” he added.

The President also noted that; “A video recording of the burial will be done and shared with all concerned. We praise the Lord Almighty for her long life. May her soul rest in eternal peace.  This is to inform all relatives, friends, acquaintances, and the NRM fraternity.”
