There has been a video circulating on social media where the “circulators” claim that the Minister of Health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng faked getting the COVID-19 vaccine jab at the launch of the immunisation campaign yesterday at Mulago Specialised Women’s and Neonatal Hospital.
The Ministry of Health has come out to refute all claims made, and to support this, the Ministry has shared a video on its official social media pages, of Aceng getting the jab yesterday.
“Please ignore the fake video making rounds on social media indicating that Jane Ruth Aceng was not vaccinated against COVID. Below is the actual video taken during the launch of the COVID-19 Vaccination UG campaign where Jane Ruth Aceng was the 1st individual to get vaccinated,” the Ministry of Health tweeted.

Dr Aceng shared the same video with the caption that reads, “For those deliberately trying to convince the public that I was not vaccinated against COVID-19 yesterday, take a look at the video below. I was vaccinated using the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine during the COVID Vaccination UG launch. Please stop spreading fake news!”
It should be noted that the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination campaign is prioritising frontline health workers, teachers, and other groups that are more at risk of infection. The country received 964,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine last week.
