Officials of the Electoral Commission have come under fire after several eligible voters in various parts of the country decrying faulty Voter Location Slips.
It should be noted that the Commission, through its acting spokesperson Paul Bukenya, revealed on Sunday that all Ugandans who intend to vote should get their Voter Location Slips, which will help them to easily identify their polling stations where they will vote from.
However, some Ugandans who have received Voter Location Slips contend that many of the slips are faulty, whereby some have duplicated images of the same person but with varying details, while others don’t have pictures.
These faulty Voter Location Slips have since left numerous Ugandans crying foul, with many of them suspecting that this might be foul play and a ploy by the E.C to disenfranchise voters ahead of the January 14th polls.
However, our efforts to secure a comment from the E.C publicist Bukenya were futile by press time because his phones went unanswered despite our incessant calls.
We shall bring you details about this impasse as soon as we get in touch with Bukenya, such that he can shed more light about the faulty Voter Location Slips.
