The body of fallen Speaker Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah, who passed away last Sunday, in Seattle, USA, is slated to be repatriated to Uganda on Friday April 1st, 2022.
The development was revealed by Minister in Charge of the Presidency Hon. Milly Babalanda, who revealed in a tweet that after the body landing in Uganda the official burial programme shall be announced.
“Fellow Ugandans, I wish to confirm that the body of our beloved Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah will arrive in Uganda this Friday,” Babalanda said.
She added that; “We shall then have a weeklong series of activities for his burial. At 1pm tmoro, i will issue a detailed prog. MHSRIEP!”
Oulanyah, who divorces his ex-wife Lady Winnie Amoo Okot in 2016, passed away after spending several months bedridden, battling a yet to be identified illness.
Although some sections of people, especially those in government maintain that he died of natural causes, others, including his father Nathan Oulyanyah allege that he was killed and that an investigation should be conducted into his death. However, President Yoweri Museveni last week while at Kololo Independence Grounds during the election of a new Speaker, rubbished the allegations and directed the police to arrest whoever is found saying Oulanyah was killed.
