In recent days, the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Commander of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen David Muhoozi has been put on spot and scrutinized by political commenters following National Unity Platform’s (NUP) former President Moses Kibalama’s court statements where he claimed that he was questioned by the CDF on matters regarding NUP’s change of leadership.
The UPDF has come out to reiterate that it is a non-partisan force and its mandate is to protect the lives and property of all Ugandans regardless of their political affiliations.
This morning, Presidential advisor on special operations and First Son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is singing nothing but praises for his namesake, saying that he is President Museveni’s “Iron fist.”
Muhoozi shared his photo on Twitter with the CDF and captioned it, “Me with my boss General David Muhoozi Rubakuba, CDF, a special soldier and commander. Always thoughtful, cool and strategic. In the UPDF we call him Mzee’s ‘Iron fist in a velvet glove’,”
The two high-ranking military officers are some of President Museveni’s closest men for obvious reasons. Muhoozi has repeatedly referred to his father, the President, as the greatest revolutionary in Africa.
