Hon. Hussein Kyanjo, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Makindye East, and a longtime government, critic has been rushed to hospital in critical condition, according to sources.
Sources say that the once outspoken legislator is currently admitted at Entebbe Grade B Hospital and his health situation is said to be ‘really worrying’.
A strange disease known as Dystonia kept the once very vocal politician away from Parliament for the most part of 2011 and 2012.
Dystonia is described as a neurological movement disorder in which sustained muscle contractions cause twisting and repetitive movements or abnormal postures.
The disorder is said to be caused by an accident, physical attack, poisoning or negative reaction to drugs. The disease leads to, among others, speech difficulty and it’s why Kyanjo uses batteries to speak for now.
There have been rumours that he was poisoned for always being critical of the government and pundits say that it is why he was silenced through poisoning, although he managed to survive after he was rushed abroad for detoxification.
During his prime days as an opposition politician, Kyanjo was then the only fearless government critic until Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) stalwart emerged from the shadows of the ruling class and became the leading opposition figure. However, he has also since been sidelined by Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, who is eyeing the 2020 presidential race.
