It is not easy to for General to surrender but as you read this, Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh has literally surrendered the leadership of the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), a government initiative aimed at combating poverty amongst Ugandans, to fashionista Sylvia Owori.
Information coming in from our credible sources at State House indicate that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, after close consultations with Gen. Salim Saleh and other stakeholders, on Friday January 1st, 2021, appointed Owori as the new Executive Director of the OWC, which is headquartered in Kapeeka, Luwero District, where Gen. Salim Saleh is based.
Announcing her new appointment, the fashion designer and entrepreneur who has been working as Gen. Salim Saleh’ s Executive Assistant for a long time, used her social media platform to tell the world that that President Museveni and Chief of Operation Wealth Creation Gen. Salon Saleh, had appreciated her talents and abilities and saw it fit to appoint her as director of operation wealth creation.
Although most of her friends and followers were happy for her, surprised netizens, especially those opposed to the government, left rude comments under her post.
Formerly a side-dish of fallen former Kampala Capital City (KCC) mayor Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala aka Seya, Owori, a woman who is credited for reviving the Miss Uganda beauty pageant, sparked off controversy when she insinuated that presidential contender Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s wife Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi was not among the most inspirational women in Uganda.
