Esteri Mugurwa, the daughter to Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh, has decided to give love a second chance by getting married for the second time.
On Saturday it was all pomp and glamour as Esteri wedded Ivan Bidna Muhoozi at a lovely wedding ceremony that was held at Lake Victoria Serena Hotel in Kiggo, which was attended by a few family members and close friends.
The lovely couple opted for an outdoor wedding at Kigo Gardens, where they exchanged vows and later hosted guests to a sumptuous banquet.
Gen. Salim Saleh was present together with his wife Jovia Saleh, just like it was last weekend during Esteri’s giveaway ceremony that was held at his palatial residence in Buziga, Kampala.
It should however be noted that before Saleh’s public appearance during the giveaway ceremony, the battle- hardened soldier had been rumoured to be critically ill and bedridden, while a Ugandan blogger based in Europe had pronounced him dead, only for him to silence the rumours by resurfacing.
Meanwhile, it goes without saying that this is Esteri’s second wedding following her first marriage with city engineer Roland Ndizeye Sekaziga in 2009, which however collapsed several years later.
Esteri and Sekaziga, who have three children together, divorced in 2017 and have since then been involved in a bitter child custody battle
It was Sekaziga who filed for divorce in the High Court Family Division and also sought maintenance and custody of their three children.
However, Lady Justice Alexandra Nkonge Rugadya granted the divorce petition and ordered for joint custody of the children, leaving Sekaziga caught between a rock and hard place, because Esteri has since rejected the joint-custody orders and opted to raise their kids alone.
