President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and former presidential aspirant Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde officially buried their hatchet on Saturday after they became in-laws.
This arose after Gen. Tumukunde’s son Pal Amanya Nduhura Tumukunde was introduced by Museveni’s daughter Dr. Angella Nagasha Kakishozi at a traditional ceremony known as Kuhingira.
Dr. Kakishozi is President Museveni’s daughter whom he produced with Enid Kukunda, although little was known about her until recently.
Amanya and Kakishozi’s Kuhingira ceremony was held on Saturday at her mother’s home in Lyantonde District and was attended by a few invited guests, many of them close family members.
Security at the ceremony was manned by Special Forces Commandos (SFC) who ensured that no one disrupts the colourful event.
We have since established however that President Museveni was not able to attend the event due to unforeseen state duties but he was ably represented by his brother Gen. Salim Saleh.
Sources close to the family reveal that following their Kuhingira, the couple is slated to officially wed on February 26th, 2022 and we shall bring you the details as and when the wedding happens.
