Popular Kenyan Gengetone stars Fathermoh, Joefess and DJ Katta have teamed up to release a reverberating dancehall jam dubbed ‘Balaa’, which has since become the talk of town.
Produced by Mavo On The Beat and directed by Vic West, ‘Balaa’ is already playing on YouTube and other digital music streaming platforms after it premiered via Black Market Records on Wednesday April 04, 2022.
A jaw-dropping club banger, ‘Balaa’, in which Fathermoh, Joefess and DJ Katta party up a storm, is already rotating on airwaves in Kenya and across East Africa.
Fathermoh and Joefess are members of the Mbuzi Gang, a Kenyan gengetone trio that also includes Iphoolish, another singer.
However, instead of working with Iphoolish on the ‘Balaa’ project, Fathermoh and Joeffes decided to team up with DJ Katta such that they could add fresh musical vibes to the project.
Fathermoh, who met Joefess and Iphoolish in 2019 after they had been signed up by Black Market Records as solo artists, was born in Nairobi, Kenya.
On the other hand, Joefes, a rebranded version of Joe, real name Joseph Getugi, lived in Kisumu for a while but originally his parents are from Kisii. His first project was a single called ‘Metamorphosis’ right in 2016.
Their other colleague Iphoolish, real name Mike Makori, hails from Kisii, Kenya and started out as a hip-hop artist with beats like ‘She Shines’ and ‘Naira Bae’ but later switched to gengetone after catching the attention of Black Market Records in 2018.
