Former Speaker of Parliament RT Hon Jacob Oulanyahโs burial is set to cost Shs2.5 billion, State House revealed.
Jacob Oulanyah died on March 20, 2022 in Seattle, USA, after battling a strange disease for several months.
His body is to be brought back to Uganda on Friday April 1, 2022 as announced by the Minister in charge of the Presidency Milly Balabanda.
Here is a breakdown of how the Shs2.5billion will be spent.

The budget has however sparked off a lot of reactions on social media with different personalities commenting about this exaggerated spending by government.
A one Ojambo said “The flight to Seattle in UK as per the PM cost USD 500k burial expenses is now UGX 2.5b! In this country, we can never be the same. A real replica of the Animal Farm, some animals are indeed more equal than others.”
