Governor Bank Of Uganda Prof Mutebile Rushed To Hospital In Nairobi

The Bank of Uganda Governor, Prof Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile has allegedly been rushed to Aga Khan Hospital while in a very critical condition.

According to a reliable source, Mutebile was rushed and admitted to the hospital on Sunday, December 31, 2021, after he collapsed.

The economist has reportedly been in and out of office due to complications related to diabetes.

“The big man was put on dialysis. He was forced to ditch his favorite whiskey because his kidneys had weakened and they couldn’t do their excretion job,” sources intimated.

Mutebile has for years been in and out of hospitals due to his failing health.

It shall be recalled that in 2015, he was hospitalized in South Africa.

On March 28, 2020, the economist was once again admitted to Nakasero Hospital very ill. Sources close to him disclosed that he couldn’t even walk by himself.

“He (Mutebile) has been frail for a while now. He could not even recognize some of his friends. He was admitted to Nakasero and advised to rest,” a source reported.

He was discharged after a week and sent to his Kololo home where he was being monitored from. The illness forced him to work from home instead of his huge office. 

There were also reports online that he had died but it was later clarified that he was still alive but living off a life saving machine.
