The police in Western Uganda have arrested a primary teacher over allegations that he strangled his 8-months-old baby to death.
Julius Monday, a teacher at Green Stone Primary School, was Tuesday arrested by police in Insingiro District over allegations of killing his biological son and dumping the body in a swamp.
According to preliminary investigations, Monday killed the infant after he developed misunderstandings with his wife over the child’s true paternity.
It is said that the misunderstandings arose after Monday suspected him wife (names withheld on request) of cheating on him with another man who impregnated her, only for him to discover after she had given birth that the child is not his.
Following his arrest and interrogation, Monday led the Police to the swamp where he had dumped the body and it was retrieved. By press time the police were hunting for his wife to record a statement, after which he will be paraded in court and charged with murder as investigations into the matter continue.
