The police in Kyotera District have arrested a 22-year-old man after he confessed to having strangled his mother and father.
Rogers Mukasa, a resident of Nsambya-Miti, in Kalisizo, reportedly confessed to police detectives that he strangled his late father Charles Magunda Kimuli and later dumped the body in a river in Bukomansimbi district.
The suspect also told the detectives that after murdering his father, he returned home and strangled his mother Kamiyaati Namayanja, 37, before he buried her body behind their home.

Following intense interrogation from the police detectives, Mukasa later directed them to where he had buried his mother’s corpse.
The police retrieved the already decomposing body and conveyed it to Masaka Referral Hospital for postmortem as investigations into the matter continue.
They revealed that Mukasa will be arraigned in court to face charges of double murder when investigations are completed and the motive of the murder is established.
