A soldier attached to the Uganda Peoples Defence Forrs (UPDF) has gone on a shooting rampage Monday morning in which he shot dead five people, among them civilians and security officers, before he was lynched by a mob.
The incident happened in Gganda, Nansana, a city suburb after a UPDF soldier identified as L/Cpl Denis Omara lost control of his mental faculties and went on a shooting spree.
Eyewitnesses told ExposedUganda.com that the soldier first shot two LDU personnel, before he opened fire at a private car, in which he killed a mother and another person.
However, on realising that he had gone berserk several LDU, Police and UPDF soldiers pursued the trigger-happy soldier and with the help of locals managed to put him out of action.
