News reaching our desk is that Hot 100 FM, one of Kampala’s popular radio stations is set to close this year after failing to make profits.
Hot 100 Fm which started airing in 2006 is a sister station to Simba FM and it has been focusing on youth shows majoring in Hip Hop music and RnB.
Its first years in the industry were successful but it witnessed its downfall after presenters like Bryan McKenzie and Lady Bezo’s departure.
After their departure, the Bukoto based station was turned into a comedy station but still, it failed to bring in income hence its said closure.
It has lost most of its presenters to other radio stations, like the recent move where comedian Emeka left them for Galaxy Fm shows the dier situation at the station.
The station’s closure will leave many of her workers unemployed.
