News that has just reached our desk indicates that Kamya has Thursday May 19, 2022, been rushed to a top medical facility in Kampala after she suffered a heart attack.

Sources privy to the matter intimate to this website that Kamya was rushed to hospital after she suffered a ‘sudden excruciating pain in her heart’, which made her collapse.

It should however be noted that earlier on Kamya had been summoned to appear before the Parliamentary Committee on Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) on issues regarding the wrangles at the Land Commission, where she served as Minister for Lands.

But by press time the IGG’s office had not yet issued an official statement about Kamya’s health condition and whether her life was out of danger or not.

A veteran politician, Kamya was some time back the leader of the Uganda Federal   Alliance (UFA) before she joined the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), leaving the party she founded to go to the dogs.

Kamya is the Inspector General of Government in Uganda, since 16 July 2021.

Previously, from December 2019 until May 2021, she was the Cabinet Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, in the Cabinet of Uganda.

Before that, from 6 June 2016 until 14 December 2019, she served as the Minister for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in Uganda’s cabinet.
