Songbird Sheebah Karungi aka Swag Mama, who broke away from Jeff Kiwanuka’s Team No Sleep music label before she started managing her music career, has assured all and sundry that she is not out to impress anybody in whatever she does.
A darling to many Ugandan music lovers, Sheebah, who has always been said to be beefing with fellow musician Diana Namukwaya aka Spice Diana, seems not to be moved by words from her haters, especially those who say she should retire from the music industry to pave away for budding musicians.
Äs if to prove her point to her fans and whoever cares to know, Sheebah wrote thus on social media;
“You automatically lose my respect if you act different to impress other people.”
“Saw something that said “If am a lot, go find less“ and that’s my vibe forever,” she later added.
Although she did not direct the rather spiteful message to anyone specifically, many of Spice Diana’s fans have since started gossiping around that she was hitting on her.
It should be noted that Sheebah is one of Uganda’s finest artistes, who debuted her acting career in Queen of Katwe as Shakira, although she is also aa dancer who did some time with the Obsessions group.
After quitting Obsessions, a dance group she joined in 2006, she rose to recognition upon the release of her hit single “Ice Cream”.
In 2014, she released her debut project Ice Cream, a five-track EP which did well commercially and led her to win back-to-back HiPipo Music Awards Best Female Artist in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
She also won the Artist of the Year award twice, in 2017, 2018, and 2019 at the HiPipo Music Awards.
