City videographer Ian Akwakwasa commonly known as Sasha VYBZ told journalist Crystal Newman in a one on one interview that he is proud of the way his work has changed people’s careers and lives during the last ten years he has been a serious filmmaker in Uganda’s entertainment industry.
The towering dreadlocked man from Kabale, who says he is in his 30’s, explained that he started off as a humble photographer but eventually became a camera operator when he started working for Tendo Kagwa.
Eager to improve on his craft, he saved money and with help from his parents went to South Africa where he studied a three-year course in TV and film production.
Since then the dark-skinned video director has worked with musicians like Sheebah Karungi, Eddy Kenzo, Face Off, Lillian Mbabazi and many others.
He also said he has also inspired many film makers and helped in taking the music video making business to the next level.
