City mogul John Ssebalamu, who is the proprietor of Freedom City shopping centre and owner of several arcades in Kampala, has trashed rumours that have been circulating to the effect that he is dead.
Word about Ssebalamu’s alleged death started circulating on Friday evening and by Saturday morning most Ugandans had been convinced that he is really dead.
However, as a way of clearing the air, Ssebalamu has since come out to assure all and sundry that he is very alive and that they should disregard all rumours about his death.
“In fact, I’m very fine. Whoever gave you that news lied,” Ssebalamu said in a video he posted on social media on Saturday morning.
We have since established that Ssebalamu is currently in Jinja where he went for a short vacation and to tour the source of the Nile.
It should be noted that he joins the long list of prominent Ugandans that have been announced dead on social media only for them to turn up alive, apart from tycoon Bulaim Muwanga Kibirige aka BMK, who refuted the death allegations only for him to die shortly thereafter.
Sebalamu is a multiple property owner in Uganda credited with starting the culture of the now mushrooming shopping arcades in the heart of Kampala.
He owns several properties in Kampala, including Freedom City Mall, which cost him over US $1 million, Capital House, Naiga Chambers, among others.
